This Outfitter not only lives and breath's hunting and the outdoors, but is a Game Biologist with a degree in Zoology, as well as, being an Environmental Scientist. So as you can see, he outfits from the ground up. With varied species hunted, as well as, hunting in Argentina and Aftica, there is alot to offer and alot for him to keep abreast of. The Following is a synopsis of the game and info for each.
Pronghorn Antelope: High plains animal, a runner by nature, providing a challenging hunt. Hunt periods from late August and mid to late September. Depending on the region the duration of hunt is 2 or three days. Maintaining a 100% opportunity on these hunts with excellent quality clients can expect to see bucks in the 14 1/2" to 16 " range. It is a physically easy hunt where you will see lots of game. The license is guaranteed through a landowner permit (for a slight extra fee) in the event you do not draw a tag. Hunting is at private ranches with the facilities being either a modern facility or a deluxe tent camp depending on the areas hunted.
Sonora Mexico Coues Deer: A sub-species of the Whitetail Deer, he lives in the rugged mountains of the areas of Sonora. A small deer has the Whitetail mentality and provides the hunter with a challenging experience. He is known locally as "The Gray Ghost". The hunting is done at large, remote, private ranches that have excellent quality deer. This outfitter maintains a near 100% harvest from year to year and has many Boone and Crockett animals to their credit. Hunts take place in December and January, with the climate being pleasant. We obtain all required licenses and gun permits for our clients and the hunt is done in conjunction with a licensed Mexican Outfitter. You are met at the Hermosillo Airport and transported to the ranchs, then returned to the airport when your hunt is completed.
Rocky Mountain and Desert Big Horn Sheep: Both species are hunted in New Mexico. To obtain a license you must go through a state draw for the permit or be the successful bidder for the permit at the National Sheep Foundation Auction. We can hunt Desert Sheep in the state of Sonora Mexico on a landowner permit, however, this permit is an expensive investment. Most sheep areas are in rugged remote areas with the outfitter providing horses, camp and expertise to outfit these hunts. AT THIS TIME, THIS OUTFITTER HOLDS THE NEW MEXICO STATE RECORD RAM, STATE RECORD BOW HARVEST AND STATE RECORD MUZZLELOADER HARVEST. They have maintained a 100% success rate for all clients and have harvested several Boone and Crocket rams. We can provide the Sheep Drawing Application from the New Mexico Game and Fish Department for you upon receipt of your deposit.
Mule Deer (Rocky Mountain and Desert): This is probably the most difficult and sought after trophy animal on the North American Continent. Populations are down all over the Western States and obtaining a large trophy has become more difficult. This outfitter hunts the Rocky Mountain Sheep in New Mexico and Utah on a limited basis. They hunt the large Desert Species in Sonora Mexico. This is a challenging hunt due to terrain and low deer density. They continually seek good trophy areas with a good opportunity for their clients to harvest a trophy deer.
Elk : Elk hunts include bow hunting in September and rifle hunting in October and early November. You will be placed in a public draw for the license and if not successful the outfitter provides a land owner permit to guarantee a license. Hunts are conducted primarily on the Santa Fe National Forest, as well as, on small parcels of private property within Unit 6. The number of licenses issued by the Game Department for each hunt period is limited which controls the number of hunters in the field at any given time. This allows us a quality hunt on public property. The facilities are first class with open bar, plenty of home cooked food and good conversation. The elk in these areas are of very good trophy quality. The recommendation is to hunt for a good five or six point bull. Success rates have varied from 60% to 100% mainly depending on the weather and hunter ability.
Merriam Spring Turkey : This outfitter has been active with spring gobbler hunts for several years now. They have expanded areas and offer hunts for several species in different areas, as well as, the Merriam. We can now book your slam for the following or any one individual species with this outfitter and expect excellent results. The species and areas of hunt are: Merriam, New Mexico -- Osceolas, Florida -- Easterns, Florida -- Rio Grande, Texas -- Goulds, Mexico. The hunts are conducted on Large, Private ranches in their respective areas. The hunts are guided and the guides will call or let experienced callers call their birds for themselves. Calling in a mature gobbler by imitating a seductive hen has the same thrill as rattl'n up a rut crazed Whitetail buck or bugling up a big bull elk.
