This is an American outfitter working hand in hand with a Mexican outfitter.  Everything for these hunts in not only on the up an up (BE CAREFUL IN MEXICO), but is also of the highest quality.  The Outfitter was born and raised in Oklahoma hunting upland game, waterfowl, white-tail deer and turkey.  Educated at Oklahoma State University, he received his BS in Wildlife Management and an MS in Zoology.   In his early years he worked for the Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife Conversation as a biologist, doing the same as he moved to the Texas Parks and Wildlife and then on to the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

1968, saw a move to New Mexico where he accepted a position as an Environmental Scientist and at the same time was put in the mountains near a variety of Big Game.  The concept of Wildlife Management and Big Game Hunting on private property was just coming into its own at this time.  After establishing a viable hunting and fishing program on a large ranch in Northern New Mexico he established his own outfitting business.  For the past three decades this has been his full time profession.  He is at present Vice President of the Northern Sector of International Professional Hunter Association and on the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Council of Outfitters and Guides Association.

The Mexico hunts are run out of Sonora Mexico:

The Coues Deer is a sub-species of the White-tail.  He lives in the rugged mountain areas of Sonora.   This outfitter has some of the finest quality producing ranches in the area.   These are large remote ranches with high density deer populations.  They have good comfortable camp facilities.  They consistantly produce several B&C heads for the clients and have maintained a high score average on bucks taken.  The hunt is during December and January for 5 days of hunting.  The technique for hunting these challenging animals consists mostly of spot and stalk in their mountainous habitat.   You will see lots of game and have numberous shooting opportunities.

The Desert Mule Deer, is the most sought after game animal on the North American continent.  Every Western Mule Deer state has seen a steady decline in quantity and quality of deer.  At this time the Sonoran desert is providing the best opportunity to kill a really trophy class animal.   The deer density is low in this area and hunting is difficult due to the terrain, but the genetics are great and big bucks are killed each year.  This outfitter has been careful in leasing property that has had little or no hunting pressure.  At this time they have in excess of 100,000 acres of good deer territory.  The ranch house facility is large, clean and modern.  Hunting pressure is kept to a minimum to ensure that there are trophy deer each year.  Bucks that gross score 185-208 are what have been being killed over the recent years.  The genetics and habitat are there, and the hunts are conducted in January for 6 day periods during the rut.

The Desert Bighorn Sheep--Mexico is the only area that gives the client the ability to buy a permit and book a hunt.   All other Desert Sheep hunts are on a draw.  The odds of a successful draw are very low due to the tremendous demand for these licenses.  The quality of sheep taken with this outfitter has been very good.  It is important to have a permit in a good area and conduct extensive pre-hunt scouting.  These permits are expensive, so if you are interested in a hunt please contact us well in advance so we can obtain a permit in a good area.

The Goulds Turkey hunts take place during the spring mating season Late April - early May.  Mexico is the only place where an individual can legally hunt the Gould Turkey.  They are hunted on large private ranches in the Sierra Madre mountians with this outfitter running 100% over the past 5 years.  These are mature gobblers (Jakes and young birds cannot be shot) with nice beards and long spurs.  The guides will do the calling or let the experienced clients call their birds for themselves.  Due to the remoteness of the area this is a camp out hunt.

The Javelina hunts are for the smaller southwestern cousin to the Arizona mountain Javelina.  These are fun to hunt and very challenging with a bow.  These hunts also take place in the Sonora are of Mexico on private ranches and are usually hunted as an additional animal for a hunter that successfully tagged out early on other game.

The Dove and Quail hunting is excellent for White Wing and Mourning Dove during the winter months in the Hermosilla area.  This is a 3 day package that includes a one-half day Quail hunt.  Minimum group size is six clients and maximum is 10 clients.  Guns can be provided upon request.
