THIS OUTFITTER IS RATED AAA

These animals are hunted from cozy camps on the west side of the Alaskan range. From the Stony River in the south to the Swift and Big Rivers in the north these remote, well equipped camps offer probably the best hunting in Alaska. The Black Bear, Moose and Caribou average around 100% success, while the Grizzly averages 65% and the Brown Bear is always close to 100%.  As you can see these are very successful hunts.

All hunts are conducted by the Outfitter and are geared toward TOTAL hunter satisfaction. The licensed, professional guides know the areas intimately and enjoy sharing their knowledge with you. In an effort to provide a quality and rewarding experience the preference is to hunt one guide with one hunter, although husband/wife and/or father/son combinations under one guide can be accommodated.

HUNTS

Brown Bear taken in this area will sometimes square well over 10' and average around  9'. Fall hunts provide up to fifteen bears seen daily. There are more bears now than ever before.

Moose weigh in at over 1500#'s and provide the best steaks in Alaska. They usually spread around 60" with some well over 70". Their numbers are high and stable.

Barren Ground Caribou herd has doubled over the past five years and now numbers in excess of 80,000 animals. This gives the bow hunters and serious trophy hunters a very good chance at a record book animal.

Grizzly, Black Bear Wolf and Wolverine numbers are up and healthy and the effort to take one of these elusive trophies is always worth the adventure.

CAMPS

Main camp for Brown Bear is a fully equipped Haeg's Wilderness Lodge. Television, hot running water, indoor plumbing and fabulous meals are unbelievable considering that the nearest road is 80 miles away. Spike camps are heated bomb-shelter type tents and small cabins. Normal stay in the spike camp is 2-3 days before returning to main camp.

Main camp for Moose, Caribou, Grizzly and Black Bear is a comfortable group of cabins on the shore beneath the towering Alaskan range. Spike camps consist of cabins and permanent wood frame wall tents that are either wood or kerosene heated.

BOW HUNTING

Bow hunts are always challenging, but a challenge that this Outfitter readily accepts. The majority of rifle shots on Moose and Caribou are less than 50 yards and rarely over 100 yards. This along with the guides knowledge of wind and game calling usually get game within easy bow range. At present this Outfitter is reluctant to conduct Bow hunts for Brown and Grizzly bear for obvious reasons, although he will welcome any proposals you might have.
